What does SQF mean?
SQF stands for Safe Quality Food and is a certification program implemented by some food processors to insure food safety. SQF is recognized by retailers and foodservice providers around the world who require a rigorous, credible food safety management system. Using the SQF certification program will help reduce assessment inconsistencies and costs of multiple assessment standards. What’s more, the SQF Program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification. Administered by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), SQF benefits from continual retailer feedback about consumer concerns. These benefits are passed on to SQF certified suppliers, keeping them a step ahead of their competitors. The Safe Quality Food Institute Mission is to "deliver consistent, globally recognized food safety and quality certification programs based on sound scientific principles, consistently applied across all industry sectors, and valued by all stakeholders."
What does HACCP mean?
HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. As SQF, it is a systematic preventative approach to food safety and biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finished product to be unsafe, and designs measurements to reduce these risks to a safe level. In this manner, HACCP is used to prevent hazards. The HACCP system can be used at all stages of a food chain, from food production and preparation processes including packaging, distribution, etc. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) certifies our plant.

When I opened one of your portions, sometimes I a thin layer of discoloured applesauce on top of the product or a fine circle at the bottom of the portion. Is that normal?
In sugar free products, this is what we call a natural separation. Apples contain great amount of fibre that is known to separate from the mix with time, same phenomenon that occurs in natural juices, pulp can make a deposit on the bottom of container, because it is heavier, apple fibre will deposit and lose its color with time. In order to offer natural products to our customers, we use natural colours (like vegetable juices) to color our products, and this causes the discoloration of the fibres.
How long can I keep the applesauce in the fridge once opened?
Once the product is opened, refrigirate right away. We recommend that it is kept no longer than 3 to 5 days.
Is your packaging suitable for recycling?
The plastic portions and metal lids are recyclable but unfortunately our pouches are not recyclable due to the layered packaging.
